Game 1 BoxGame 2 BoxSTONY BROOK, N.Y. – Playing in its first games in three weeks, Binghamton (9-11, 0-2 AE) dropped an America East softball doubleheader at Stony Brook on Saturday afternoon at University Field. The Seawolves won 15-0 in the opener and 3-0 in the nightcap. The Bearcats' five previous scheduled dates were either cancelled or postponed due to the weather.
In the first game, Jane Sallen tossed a three hit shutout in a game that was decided in five innings. Offensively, Shayla Giosa, Diane Caruso and Lexi Shue each belted a home run.
Sallen raised her record to 7-7 while junior 
Cara Martin dropped to 4-4 with the loss.
In the nightcap, Allison Cukrov pitched a five-hit shutout. Offensively, Bria Green had the key hit with a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Binghamton stranded nine runners in the second game.
Cukrov improved to 4-1 with the victory while freshman pitcher 
Sarah Miller fell to 5-4 with the defeat.
Junior catcher 
Lisa Cadogan finished the day 2-for-4 with a walk.
Binghamton and Stony Brook conclude their three-game series at noon on Sunday.
