STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Junior catcher Lisa Cadogan drove in a game-high six runs, powering Binghamton (10-11, 1-2 AE) to a 13-7 win over Stony Brook (12-11, 2-1 AE) in an America East softball game on Sunday afternoon at University Field. With the victory, the Bearcats avoid being swept in the three-game conference series.

The 13 runs marks the fifth time this season that Binghamton has reached double figures in scoring. Furthermore, the Bearcats finished Sunday's game with a season-high 18 hits.

Cadogan, who hit .625 during the three-game series, finished 3-for-4 on Sunday with a double and a home run. Junior outfielder Sydney Harbaugh and junior designated hitter Taylor Chaffee each added a two-run home run.

After failing to score in both games on Saturday against Stony Brook, the Bearcats fell behind 4-0 heading into the top of the third inning. Harbaugh and Chaffee, however, each belted their two-run blasts to deadlock the game at 4-4.

Stony Brook reclaimed a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the third inning but Binghamton roared back with five runs in the top of the fourth inning. Cadogan delivered the big blow with a three-run double.

In the top of the fifth inning, the Bearcats padded their lead to 12-5. Cadogan once again had the big hit, drilling a two-run home run.

Stony Brook trimmed the deficit to 12-7 in the bottom of the fifth inning but Cadogan singled home the Bearcats' final run in the following frame.

Sophomore pitcher Shelby Donhauser improved to 1-2 with the win. The loss was tagged to Allison Cukrov, who is now 4-2.

Freshman second baseman Stephanie Bielec finished 3-for-3 while freshman third baseman Kate Richard went 3-for-5.

Binghamton heads to Hartford on Tuesday at 2 p.m. for a make-up doubleheader.

NOTES: For the season, Cadogan is batting a team-best .436 with six home runs and 24 RBI. Harbaugh, who also scored three runs in Sunday's win, is batting .379 with four home runs and 20 RBI ... Cadogan has now driven in at least six runs twice this season. She had a program-record seven RBI against Rider back on March 8.
