VESTAL, N.Y.- The Binghamton volleyball team continues its non-conference schedule this weekend at The Cherry and White Challenge at Temple September 11-12. On Friday, the Bearcats take on Duquesne at 3 p.m. The following day, BU faces Montana at 3:30 p.m. and concludes tournament play against hosts Temple at 7:30 p.m. All tournament matches will be held at McGonigle Hall. Binghamton will also play a match against Towson at 2 p.m. on Sunday in a neutral site match at The Palestra.

Binghamton dropped three contests last weekend at the Cleveland State Invitational. The Bearcats fell to Cincinnati Friday in three games (25-14, 25-22 and 25-16). BU then tested Central Michigan in a five-game match (25-22, 23-25, 25-15, 16-25 and 15-10) Saturday afternoon ultimately losing 3-2. The Bearcats were also swept by hosts Cleveland State 3-0.
Sarah Ngo was named to the all-tournament team after recording 79 assists and 18 digs on the weekend. Three freshmen-

Erin Shultz and
Gabby Alicea-had an impressive outing against Central Michigan, adding 35 points for the team.
Duquesne competed at the Duquesne/Pitt Invitational last weekend coming out with a 2-1 record on the weekend. The Dukes finished the tournament with a 3-0 victory over Colgate Saturday after beating Youngstown State 3-2 and falling to Pitt 3-0 on Friday. Abbie Trzeciak and Sammy Kline were named to the all-tournament team. Trzeciak hit .375 with 12 kills in the win over Youngstown State, Kline added 21 digs in the first match and 11 in the second.
The Montana Grizzlies played in the Gonzaga Invitational September 4-5 coming out of the tournament winless. Montana lost to Utah 3-1 Friday evening. On Saturday, the Grizzles fell to Gonzaga 3-0 and finished the tournament with a 3-1 loss to Wyoming. In the final game, Hannah Sackett put down 18 kills and Silerolia Gaogao added nine kills and 14 digs.
Tournament hosts Temple finished the Seton Hall tournament as runner-ups last weekend. The Hawks won their first match 3-1 over Hofstra to open the tournament and then topped Notre Dame 3-1 to win their fourth match in a row. Temple closed out the tournament with a 3-0 loss to Seton Hall. Irem Asci and Tyler Davis were named to the all-tournament team. Asci also earned a spot on the American Athletic Conference weekly honor roll following the tournament.
Towson went 3-0 last weekend at the North Dakota State tournament. The Tigers kicked off their weekend with a 3-1 win at North Dakota Friday followed by a 3-1 win over Milwaukee and a 3-2 win over Utah Valley to improve to 7-1 on the season. Haley Pa'akaula was named the tournament MVP after setting a school record for single-match kills with 30 in the Utah Valley game. She was joined by Jocelyn Kuilan and Candace Steadman on the all-tournament team.
This weekend marks the Bearcats first-ever meeting with all four teams.Â
