VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton men's basketball starts a clean slate Wednesday night when the Bearcats (3-10) host America East favorite Stony Brook (9-4) in the conference opener for both teams. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at Dr. Bai Lee Court at the Events Center. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3 - the fourth time the Bearcats have appeared on the ESPN family of networks this season.

Sophomore forward Willie Rodriguez leads the Bearcats in both scoring (14.1 ppg.) and rebounding (6.2 rpg.). He ranks fifth in scoring in the America East and is 10th in rebounding. Freshman guard Everson Davis (11.1 ppg.) ranks fourth among freshmen in scoring.

Binghamton will look to snap a 12-game losing streak to the Seawolves.

QUICK HITS

•    Stony Brook will be BU's sixth opponent ranked inside the RPI Top 100.
•    Binghamton's 12 straight losses to the Seawolves marks the longest losing skid against any opponent during the Bearcats' 15-year Division I history.
•    The Bearcats have been hit hard by injuries. Junior guard Yosef Yacob (23 min. per game last year) was lost for the year in preseason. Starting sophomore guard Romello Walker (8.6 ppg. last year) was lost for the season after playing just seven games. The team's lone senior, guard Karon Waller (67 career games) has been shut down for the season with injuries, leaving BU with four healthy guards.
•    Binghamton's current rotation features no seniors and just two juniors. The team's underclassmen account for 84% of the minutes and 83% of the scoring. Of the team's eight players averaging double-digit minutes, seven are underclassmen. The 11 underclassmen gives BU the eighth-highest underclassmen percentage in the country (73.3%).
•    Binghamton is 5-9 in all-time America East openers and has dropped its last three. The team is 0-3 in America East openers played at home (5-6 on road).

LAST TIME OUT
•    On Saturday in Philadelphia, BU struggled to 24% shooting and suffered an 80-45 loss at Penn.
•    Down 19-14 with 7:53 left in the first half, BU was held without a point for the remainder of the period and Penn's 18-0 run gave them a 23-point halftime bulge.
•    Sophomore forward Willie Rodriguez had team-highs of nine points and six rebounds.

ABOUT STONY BROOK
•    The Seawolves have won eight of their last 10 and are ranked a league-best 60th in the latest RPI
•    Stony Brook returns all five starters from a 23-13 team that lost in the America East title game before playing in the postseason CBI.
•    Two-time reigning America East Player of the Year and NBA prospect Jameel Warney (20.0 ppg., 10.5 rpg.) leads the team.
•    The Seawolves shoot 47% and are scoring 77 points a game.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. STONY BROOK
•    Thanks to 12 straight wins, Stony Brook leads the all-time series 37-25.
•    Since both teams were Division I, Stony Brook leads 17-15.
•    Binghamton held the early advantage during the 2000s, winning 14 of the first 18 matchups between 2001-2010.
•    Three of the last four matchups have been decided by seven or fewer points, including Stony Brook's 62-57 win in the 2015 America East quarterfinals last March 4 on Long Island.

NEXT UP

•    Binghamton travels to New Hampshire for a Saturday afternoon game against the Wildcats. The Bearcats lead the all-time series 17-12, though UNH has won seven of the last nine.
