WEST POINT, N.Y. - Army (6-6) closed out the game with a decisive 11-3 run to hold off Binghamton men's basketball (8-6) 71-60 Wednesday night from Christl Arena.Â

Everson Davis to pull within three, 60-57, with 3:40 left. But the host Black Knights scored 11 straight points to lock up the win. Binghamton missed four of its last five shots and had a pair of turnovers in the final 3:02.Â
The game was tight throughout, especially in the second half, when the teams were separated by six points or fewer for most of the 20 minutes.Â
Junior forward
Willie Rodriguez tallied his first double-double of the season and eighth of his career with team-highs of 18 points and 10 rebounds. Rodriguez hit 7-of-14 shots, nearly all in heavy traffic, and added a pair of blocks in 29 minutes.
Davis gave BU a second double-digit scorer with 12 points.
Binghamton started the game strong, using a 10-0 run to forge a 24-14 lead with 7:41 to play in the half. Army responded, however, with a 16-2 run and the teams entered halftime even at 32-32.

Timmy Rose gave BU a quick 36-32 lead to start the second half. But Army doubled up BU over the next 10 minutes (20-10) to grab a lead it would never relinquish.Â
After a short holiday break, BU returns to the hardwood when the Bearcats host Marywood at 4 p.m. on Dec. 30 in the final non-conference game of the season.Â
