NEWARK, Del. - Host Delaware (10-4) swept a doubleheader from Binghamton baseball Saturday afternoon at Bob Hannah Stadium, winning 4-2 and 9-7. The teams will complete the four-game weekend series with a game at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
In the seven-inning opener, BU (2-11) was limited to five hits and the Blue Hens snapped a 2-2 tie with single runs in the fifth and sixth innings.
Junior first baseman
Brendan Skidmore had two of the Bearcats' hits.Â
Delaware scored two runs on three singles and a walk in the bottom of the third to take a 2-0 lead. Binghamton tied it with two runs in the fifth. Junior left fielder
Darian Herncane drew a one-out walk and went to third on a double by sophomore center fielder
CJ Krowiak. Herncane then scampered home on a wild pitch and Krowiak scored on a fielding error to tie the game at 2.Â
But the Blue Hens used a single, walk and two stolen bases to forge ahead 3-2 in the fifth inning and then the hosts tacked on an insurance run in the sixth on a leadoff home run.
Junior
Jake Cryts (L, 0-2) went 5.0 innings and allowed four runs on six hits.
In the nightcap, BU led 6-0 after three innings and led 7-2 before surrendering seven straight runs. Delaware scored six runs in the fifth inning to take the lead and added another run in the seventh.Â
The Bearcats outhit Delaware 15-7.
The first five players in BU's lineup had two hits apiece and Krowiak, senior second baseman
Reed Gamache and sophomore shortstop
Paul Rufo each had two hits and an RBI. Junior right fielder
Eddie Posavec drove in three runs and sophomore catcher
Jason Agresti added two hits and two runs scored.Â
Senior starter
Mike Bunal struck out seven in 4.1 innings and limited the Blue Hens to three hits and two earned runs.Â
Posavec delivered a two-out, two-run double to highlight BU's five-run third inning.Â
But in the bottom of the fifth, Delaware scored six decisive runs on just three hits. The hosts took advantage of three walks, a wild pitch and an error and then used a two-out, bases-clearing double to seize the lead. Â Â

Jacob Wloczewski is slated to make his season debut on Sunday.Â
