LOWELL, Mass. – Senior designated hitter Griffin McIver homered and drove in three runs, leading Binghamton (12-9, 3-0 AE) to a 6-3 win over UMass Lowell (4-22, 0-3 AE) in an America East softball game on Sunday afternoon at River View Field. With the victory, the Bearcats sweep the three-game conference series and stretch their current winning streak to a season-high four games.
The Bearcats trailed 2-1 entering the top of the seventh inning but blew the game open with five runs. McIver's two-run homer, with the score tied at 2-2, was the key hit of the frame. Sophomore outfielder

Lisa Cadogan then padded the lead with RBI singles.
UMass Lowell took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning on a two-run double by Alysha Welch. McIver, however, trimmed the deficit to 2-1 in the top of the fourth inning when she singled home Eichner.
Makenzie Goluba, who pitched the final four innings, got the win to improve to 2-0. Lauren Ramirez fell to 0-4 with the loss.
Eichner went 2-for-3 and scored a pair of runs.

Sydney Harbaugh finished 2-for-4. For the weekend, she was 8-for-13 (.615), scored five times and drove in four runs.
McIver finished the three-game series 4-for-9 with two home runs and four RBI.
Binghamton heads to Central Connecticut State on Monday for a 2 p.m. non-conference doubleheader.
