GENEVA, N.Y.- The Binghamton men's lacrosse team fell, 12-6, at Hobart Saturday afternoon.
Sean Gilroy recorded two goals and two assists, while
Zach Scaduto scored three times in the non-conference match at Boswell Field.

After the hosts scored twice to open the game, the Bearcats answered in a big way. Gilroy scored with 1:46 left in the first quarter, halving the deficit. Just 50 seconds into the second frame, Gilroy hit
Thomas McAndrew for a tying goal. A little over two minutes later, Scaduto found the back of the net for the first time, giving BU a 3-2 advantage. Scaduto extended the margin with a goal at the 7:41 mark, as
Matthew Kaser assisted on the play.

Hobart rallied with two late goals, sending the game into halftime even at 4. It scored first in the third period, but Gilroy tied the score again with 7:17 remaining. The Statesmen responded with five straight goals before Gilroy found Scaduto for the hat trick with 6:23 showing on the fourth-quarter clock. The hosts added two more goals to cap the scoring.

Scaduto continued his stellar start to the season, recording three goals to give him six on the season. Gilroy tallied two goals and a pair of assists.
Tanner Cosens notched nine saves in net.
Garrett Waldron was strong defensively, claiming three groundballs and a caused turnover. Frank Brown paced Hobart with four goals and an assist.

BU (0-3) hosts Delaware in the 2016 home opener on Saturday, March 12. The non-conference contest is set for a 1 p.m. start at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
