Softball Heads to Colgate for Non-Conference Doubleheader

Bearcats and Raiders begin play today at 3:30 p.m.








STORY LINES

- Binghamton (19-9) has been off since sweeping a three-game America East series at UMBC April 2-3. The Bearcats as a team rank ninth in the NCAA in both batting (.344) and scoring (7.54 runs per game).

- Senior catcher Taylor Chaffee ranks first in the America East with a .426 batting average while sophomore outfielder Jessica Rutherford is second (.421). Senior designated played Griffin McIver, who was the America East Player of the Week on April 4, has a team best seven home runs.

- Colgate (4-19) was swept at Lehigh in a three-game Patriot League series this past weekend. The Raiders have been led in hitting by Katie Bushee, who is hitting .320.

- Senior outfielder Sydney Harbaugh currently has 179 career his, which is just one hit away from tying Jessica Phillips (2010-13) for first place all time in program history. Harbaugh already has the program records for runs (144) and stolen bases.

- Binghamton carries an 11-game winning streak into the doubleheader at Colgate. It is the third-longest winning streak in program history. In both 1995 and 1997, the team posted a record 13-game winning streak.
