Softball Travels to Buffalo for Non-Conference Doubleheader

Bearcats and Bulls square off Tuesday at 2 p.m.








STORY LINES

- Binghamton (26-12) has won its past five games, including a three-game sweep at home against Stony Brook this past weekend. Senior designated player Griffin McIver, who finished 4-for-9 (.444) with a home run against the Seawolves, is the current America East Player of the Week. Senior pitcher Cara Martin, meanwhile, was 2-0 against Stony Brook.

- Buffalo (14-29) was swept by Kent State 8-0 and 4-1 last Saturday in its most recent games. Savanna Norcio leads the Bulls in hitting (.383) while Katie Weimer has a team-best nine home runs and 42 RBI.

- As a team, Binghamton ranks ninth in the nation with a .343 batting average. The Bearcats also rank No. 10 with 7.11 runs per game and are No. 20 with a .416 on-base percentage.

- Sophomore outfielder Jessica Rutherford leads Binghamton with a .415 batting average and 34 RBI. Senior catcher Taylor Chaffee is hitting .400 while McIver has belted a team-best nine home runs.

- Binghamton and Buffalo meet for the first time in softball.
