VESTAL, N.Y.- Binghamton volleyball travels to St. John's University for the Jack Kaiser Classic this weekend. The Bearcats will play three matches, starting with a contest against La Salle on Friday, September 2, at 4 p.m. On Saturday, BU follows with a noon bout against Niagara and concludes with a 4 p.m. match at St. John's.
 
The matches against La Salle and St. John's will be played at the Carnesecca Arena, with the Niagara contest being held at the Taffner Fieldhouse.
 
Binghamton dropped all three of its outings at the College of Charleston Invitational last weekend. Junior Sarah Ngo was chosen to the all-tournament team as she recorded 87 assists, 23 digs, and three aces to lead BU. Bailey Walker tallied 51 digs and freshman Lauren Kornmann posted 19 kills and six aces.
 
La Salle is 5-0 this year, including a stellar 4-0 showing at its own invitational last weekend. Freshman Devin Corah paces the Explorers with 58 kills and 12 aces, while Kathryn Wood, another rookie, has dished out 171 assists. Jensen Sharritts has compiled 94 digs to lead the defense. La Salle went 6-25 in 2015.
 
Niagara went 1-3 on its trip to California last weekend, dropping matches to nationally-ranked UCLA and Loyola Marymount in the process. The Purple Eagles bounced back with a win over Cal State Fullerton to close out the trip. Madison May is the team's leading scorer with 40 points, while Alexis Gray has contributed 82 helpers in four outings. NU posted a 13-17 record last season.
 
St. John's sports a 3-0 record early in 2016. It defeated Rutgers, Bryant, and Iona last weekend to open its schedule. Erica Di Maulo has notched 99 assists and Danisha Moss has 18 total blocks in three contests. The Red Storm produced an 18-win season last year.
