ITHACA, N.Y. - Nationally-ranked Cornell (2-0) kept visiting Binghamton men's tennis (0-2) off the scoreboard in a 7-0 win Thursday afternoon at Reis Tennis Center.Â
The Big Red clinched the doubles point with two wins and then captured all six singles matches.
The Bearcats had the most success at fourth and fifth singles, where freshman
Kushaan Nath and sophomore Inigo Saez each won a set to extend their matches to third sets.Â
'It was a tough match today against a very strong Cornell side on their home courts," head coach
Nick Zieziula said. "Our guys competed well throughout and learned a lot from this match. Cornell did a better job staying focused and punished our mental mistakes. There were many positive attributes to our play which we will build on for Dartmouth next weekend."
Binghamton returns to action on January 27 at Dartmouth.
