VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton volleyball team (6-14, 3-4 AE) will travel to Durham, New Hampshire to face UNH (10-11, 5-2 AE)
on Friday night at
7 p.m. The contest will be played at Lundholm Gymnasium. The Bearcats are looking forward to bouncing back from a close match against Albany last Friday.
Junior
Gaby Alicea, outside hitter for the Bearcats lead the team with 16 points and 14 kills in their loss against Albany last Friday night. Two other game stat leaders were
Sarah Ngo, who recorded 41 assists, and
Samantha Gioiosa, who produced 13 digs. The Bearcats are looking for their fourth conference win of the season to make their overall conference record become 4-4.
For the Wildcats, we can expect strong play from Sophomore Kennedi Smith. Smith was named America East Player of the Week
on Tuesday and also received this same accolade two weeks ago. Jereczek, Ohlava, Patlovich, and Petke were top performers, as well as Smith, in UNH's success over UMass Lowell last Friday.
The Wildcats won their last game
on Friday to UMass Lowell in straight sets, whereas the Bearcats are coming off a close loss against Albany.
Last season, the Bearcats and Wildcats met two times, with the Bearcats winning first and falling short in the second game. However, in the America East post-season competition these two teams went face to face in the semifinals and UNH Wildcats took the win over the Bearcats.
