TAMPA, Fla. -- Unbeaten Wisconsin (6-0) plated seven runs in the final two innings en route to a 6-1 win over Binghamton (0-1) in the opening round of the Michelle Smith Pediatric Cancer Tournament at the USF Softball Facility. The game marked the first of six contest the Bearcats will play over the weekend.

Through four innings, freshman pitcher
Rayn Gibson kept the Bearcats within 2-1 in her college debut. In the fifth inning, however, the Badgers scored three times. Brooke Wyndarski's two-run single was the key hit of the frame.
One inning later, Wisconsin finished off the game with four more runs. Stephanie Lombardo had the key hit with a three-run home run.Â
Kirsten Stevens went the distance, scattering one run on four hits with 10 strikeouts to win her first decision of the year. Gibson was tagged with the loss.

Gabby Bracchi went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles. Richard was 1-for-2 and also drew a walk.Â
Binghamton faces St. Joseph's on Friday at 1:30 followed by host South Florida at 4 p.m. in the second day of the Michelle Smith Pediatric Cancer Tournament. Play continues through Sunday.Â
