RICHMOND, Va. - Binghamton baseball rallied from a 3-1 hole with six straight runs to defeat Toledo 7-3 Friday morning at Pitt Field. The win was the first of the spring for the Bearcats (1-3), who took the lead in the sixth inning and won the neutral-site game to begin a three-game weekend set at University of Richmond.

Joe Orlando notched his first career victory with 4.0 shutout innings and sophomore third baseman
Justin Yurchak continued his hot hand with a 3-for-4, 2 RBI day. Yurchak is 11-for-17 (.647) so far this season.
Toledo (0-4), which plays out of the Mid-American Conference, scored runs in each of the first three innings. The Bearcats plated one in the bottom of the second. With two out, freshman shortstop
Greg Satriale walked and went to second on a wild pitch. Senior left fielder
Darian Herncane then delivered an RBI single to left field to make it 2-1. Toledo answered with a leadoff home run in the top of the third inning and the teams headed to the bottom of the sixth with the Rockets ahead 3-1.
In the sixth, BU loaded the bases with two out before a pair of clutch singles produced the four runs. Sophomore first baseman
Matt Tsukroff reached on a two-out fielding error and Satriale and Herncane followed with walks to load the bases. Yurchak then stroked a two-run single up the middle to tie the score at 3-3. After senior catcher
Eddie Posavec was hit by pitch to reload the bases, junior designated hitter
Pat Britt hit a two-run single to center, giving BU a 5-3 lead.Â
The Bearcats added single runs in the seventh and eighth innings to complete the scoring. In the seventh, Satriale and Herncane executed a double steal and Satriale scored his third run of the day on an ensuing throwing error by the Toledo catcher. In the eighth, Britt (2-for-5, 2 RBI) reached with a two-out single. Sophomore pinch runner
Anthony Meduri stole second and scored in an RBI single through the left side by Tsukroff to make it 7-3.
In the sixth inning, Orlando relieved senior starter
Jake Cryts, who fanned six and allowed two earned runs in his 5.0 innings of work. Orlando scattered four hits and struck out four.
Sophomore right-hander
Nick Gallagher will start Saturday's game between the same two teams, also set for a 10 a.m. start. Binghamton finishes up the weekend with a first-ever game against Richmond at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Â
