Women's Lacrosse Falls 15-11 to Dartmouth

Kennedy led the Bearcats with 4 goals

HANOVER, N.H. - The Binghamton Women's Lacrosse team fell to Dartmouth 15-11 Saturday afternoon. Jacqueline Kennedy netted a team-high four goals in today's game.

Kennedy started the game off with a goal for Binghamton just three minutes into the first half. Dartmouth then scored three consecutive before Rebecca Golderman scored on a free position shot to make the score 3-2. The Big Green posted two more goals before Tiffany Ryan scored her seventh of the season to make the score 5-3. From there, Kennedy broke a 4-0 run by Dartmouth to enter into the half down 9-4.

The Big Green scored the first two goals of the second period, increasing their lead to 11-4. Binghamton then took the next five, with goals by Golderman, Olivia Batista, Emily Yoo and back-to-back goals by Kennedy. Trailing 11-9 with 15 minutes to go, Dartmouth netted three goals to pull ahead 14-9. Golderman scored her 14th goal of the season and Ryan tacked on the final BU goal before the Big Green finished out the game with the final goal for a score of 15-11.

"Today was a tough loss," head coach Stephanie Allen said. "We found ourselves in a hole and couldn't dig our way out. Dartmouth won the 50/50 balls out on the field-an area we need to improve upon for Tuesday. I am proud of our team for fighting back and putting us in a position where we still had a chance. Lacrosse is a game of runs and we need to put ourselves on the better side of that next game."

Kennedy led the team with four goals and four points and Golderman hung closely behind with three goals and three points. Emma Jehle picked up six ground balls and made 15 saves in the net.

The Bearcats return home for non-league matchup against Canisius on Tuesday, February 28. The game is set for a 4 p.m. start time at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
