The Bearcat pitching staff, meanwhile, allowed only one earned run during the doubleheader.

She is also third in slugging percentage (.648), fourth in on-base percentage (.458), third in triples (four), third in RBI (27) and tied for third in doubles (nine). Hartford (3-32, 0-7 AE) lost 5-3 to Fairfield on Tuesday. Kristen DeCiantis is batting a team-best .263 for the season.

Binghamton leads the all-time series against the Hawks 26-17. Last year, the Bearcats swept a May 7 doubleheader by scores of 9-1 and 10-2 to officially clinch the America East regular-season title.

CHECKING THE STANDINGS

Halfway through the conference portion of the season, Binghamton is in sole possession of second place in the America East – 1.5 games behind defending champion Maine. The Bearcats were picked to finish second behind the Black Bears in the America East preseason poll.

Junior outfielder Jessica Rutherford is seventh with 160 hits. In sixth place, with 162 career hits, is current Bearcat assistant coach Jessica Bump (2011-14).

Senior outfielder Bridget Hunt has 10 career triples and ranks second all-time in program history. Rose Barre (2003-06) holds the program mark with 11 triples.
