ITHACA, N.Y. - The Binghamton volleyball team (3-5) fell to Cornell (2-2), 3-1, on Friday evening. The match marked the Bearcats first contest of the Cornell Tournament.

The Bearcats lost in four sets 18-25, 25-22, 22-25 and 21-25.

Cornell was able to take the first set 18-25 after falling behind to Binghamton early. The Big Red battled back and won the set to a 1-0 lead over the Bearcats.

In the second set, both teams went point-for-point until the Bearcats were finally able to take a 19-17 lead. Binghamton held the lead and won the set to tie the match 1-1.

Cornell went on to twin the final two sets 22-25 and 21-25 and take the match 3-1.

Kristella Morina led the Bearcats with 17.5 points on 15 kills. Gaby Alicea posted 12 kills and Lexi LaGoy added 10. Sarah Ngo posted a double-double with 41 assists and 29 digs.

Binghamton is back in action tomorrow for two more matches at the Cornell Invitational.
