STORY LINES

- Binghamton (2-0) is off to its best start since the 2011-12 season, having defeated Cornell 72-61 on Friday night at the Events Center. Junior guard Kai Moon, who went a perfect 15-for-15 from the free throw line, led all scorers with 22 points. Senior forward Rebecca Carmody added 14 points, seven rebounds, three assists and tied a career high with five steals. Sophomore guard Lizzy Spindler, meanwhile, went a perfect 4-for-4 from the field and finished with 11 points. 

- Moon leads the Bearcats with 15.5 points per game while Carmody is averaging 15.0 points per game, 6.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 steals. Junior guard Carly Boland is first on the team with 2.5 blocks per game. 

- Lafayette (1-0) won 63-57 in its season opener at Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday night. Natalie Kucowski turned in a 29-point, 16-rebound, two-block performance. 

- In the only previous meeting between the two schools, Binghamton defeated Lafayette 72-49 on Nov. 24, 2001 in the opening round of the BU/Time Warner Classic at West Gym

- Bethann Shapiro Ord is the first Binghamton coach to start off her tenure with a 2-0 record since Laurie Kelly during the 1998-99 season. That year also marks the last time Binghamton has started off a season 3-0.
