VESTAL, N.Y. – The America East Conference has released its 2026-27 women's basketball conference schedule, which has Binghamton opening against UMBC at home on Dec. 31. The 16-game conference slate starts prior to the New Year for the first time since the Bearcats joined the America East in 2001-02.
Including Binghamton, the Retrievers are one of four America East women's basketball teams that accepted a bid to a national postseason tournament last year. Like the Bearcats, UMBC advanced to the second round of the 2026 WNIT. Binghamton's return trip to Baltimore this season is set for Jan. 28.
The 2027 calendar year opens up for the Bearcats with a trip to defending America East champion Vermont on Jan. 2. The Catamounts' return trip to Binghamton is set for Feb. 11.
The other conference opponent that advanced to national postseason play last season is NJIT. The Highlanders also made it to the second round of the WNIT. This season, NJIT travels to Binghamton on Jan. 16 and hosts the Bearcats on Feb. 6.
Binghamton's home game against Bryant on Jan. 30 is a rematch of last year's dramatic America East quarterfinals at the Events Center. The Bearcats won that contest 45-44 on a last-second shot by current senior guard
Bella Pucci. Binghamton's return trip to Bryant this season is slated for Feb. 20.
The Bearcats' Jan. 23 game at Maine, meanwhile, is a rematch of last year's America East semifinals, which the Black Bears won 60-56. Binghamton hosts the return game this year on Feb. 25.
Other America East home games for the Bearcats are against UMass Lowell (Jan. 14), UAlbany (Feb. 18) and New Hampshire (Feb. 27).
On the road, Binghamton also travels to UAlbany (Jan. 10), New Hampshire (Jan. 23) and UMass Lowell (Feb. 13).
The top eight teams in the conference qualify for the America East Tournament. The higher-seeded teams will host each of the individual games. The quarterfinals take place Thursday, March 4, followed by the semifinals on Monday, March 8 and the championship game on Friday, March 12.
