Wrestling Hosts Buffalo Thursday

Match is set for a 7 pm start time in the West Gym

VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton wrestling is gearing up for an in-state matchup with rival University at Buffalo. The tilt is set for this Thursday, December 6th at 7pm in the West Gym on the campus of Binghamton University.

Bearcat Bites
  • The Bearcats are coming off a weekend where members of the team competed at the Cliff Keen Invitational in Las Vegas, NV and also the Storm Open in Lake Erie, OH
  • Lou DePrez highlighted Binghamton's weekend at the CKLV with a fifth place finish at 184 LB
  • After knocking off several ranked opponents, including #7 Max Dean (Cornell) Lou DePrez moved up six spots to #9 in this weeks' rankings
  • At the Storm Open, five Bearcats earned spots on the podium, highlighted by freshman Chris Barker's third place finish at 157 pounds
  • In addition to Barker, Anthony DePrez (197), Kevin Kelly (141) and Michael Zarif (149) each took sixth at their respective weights while 141-pounder Matt Swanson took seventh 
Bulls Bites
  • The Bulls are currently 3-2 in dual matches this season
  • The last time out, they fell 28-13 to Michigan State
  • Three Bulls are currently ranked in the top-25 nationally for their weight class, with two expected to wrestle Thursday night
  • Bryan Lantry is ranked #8 at 141 pounds, Alex Smythe is ranked #18 at 157 pounds and Jake Gunning is ranked #18 at heavyweight
