Kennedy leads offense with 4 goals

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Binghamton women's lacrosse team fell 18-8 to the Marist Red Foxes Saturday afternoon. The loss moves the Bearcats to 3-5 overall so far on the season.

Senior Jacqueline Kennedy spearheaded Binghamton's offense, netting a team-high four goals in the contest. Three of the attackers goals came in the first period, a crucial piece in keeping the Bearcats in the game into halftime. Tied 2-2 just five minutes into the game, Brianne Arthur put BU on the board with the first goal of the game, with Kennedy's first following shortly after. The Red Foxes then scored eight goals to the Bearcats four to close out the half, taking a 10-6 lead. Senior Tiffany Ryan, junior Rebecca Golderman and Kennedy combined for Binghamton's four goals.

Ryan came out strong in the second half, netting the first goal just 54 seconds into play to tighten the lead 10-7. Marist went on to score eight consecutive goals before Kennedy added her fourth to close out the game with just 30 seconds to go, giving Marist an 18-8 victory.
