Box Score BURLINGTON, VT - The Binghamton women's lacrosse team (4-5) move to 1-0 in America East play with a 15-8 win over Vermont (3-6, 0-1 AE) Saturday afternoon. The Bearcats offense was fueled once again across the board, seeing goals from eight different players on the field.

Stephanie Allen said. "We knew it was going to be a physical battle going in and I thought we played composed and responded to adversity very well. We'll continue to focus on our execution and critical possessions this next week in order to be ready for a tough Albany team coming up."
BU jumped to an early 2-0 start in the first half, with goals by seniors Callon Williams and Jacqueline Kennedy. The Bearcats then scored seven goals to the Catamounts three to hold a lofty 9-3 lead. Binghamton witnessed seven different players mark the score sheet, including goals from juniors Amelia Biancardi and Rebecca Golderman, seniors Skye Schumacher and Brianne Arthur and freshman Paige Volkmann. Arthur and Kennedy notched two goals in the half, powering a hat track performance by Arthur. Binghamton took a 9-3 lead into halftime.
Vermont came out strong in the second half, scoring three straight goals to tighten the gap 9-6. Binghamton immediately responded with six goals of their own, holding off the Catamounts to close out the game. Golderman and Arthur each recorded one more goal, while Volkmann and senior Tiffany Ryan added two goals apiece in the final minutes. Binghamton walked away with a 15-8 win over the Catamounts to start conference play with a victory.
Arthur lead the team with four points in today's game, recording three goals and one assist. Volkmann trailed closely behind, registering three goals on the day. Kennedy recorded a game-high six draw controls while sophomore Taylor Passuello earned a win in the net with 12 saves.
The Bearcats are back in action next Saturday, March 31 against the Albany Great Danes. The game is set for a 1 p.m. start time.
