VESTAL, N.Y. – Binghamton women's lacrosse head coach Stephanie Allen has been selected by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) as this year's 2026 IWLCA Service Award recipient, announced by the association on Tuesday.

Allen earns the recognition for her leadership in multiple outlets in women's lacrosse.  She serves as the chair of the Officials and Recruitment Development Committee, which focuses on training and supporting women's lacrosse officials. During her time as chair, Allen has helped more than 330+ officials get registered, trained and evaluated through the College Players Officials Academies (CPOA).

Allen also has continued to grow the Trina Mangano Scholarship, a program that recognizes individuals who demonstrate a commitment to pursuing officiating opportunities and supporting the continued growth of the game.

With a National Elite rating as an official, Allen has helped reduce barriers in officiating by having a complete understanding of the game and a deeper appreciation of everyone involved. She continues to give back to the sport by connecting new officials with mentors, expanding the pool of qualified officials and generating an environment for young, passionate and enthusiastic women to enjoy the game of women's lacrosse.

"Recruiting, developing, and retaining officials are essential to our sport's continued growth and success, and I am proud to have played a role in that mission. I am only a small part of the service that takes place within our organization and am humbled to be recognized for the collective efforts of so many who are dedicated to strengthening our sport. This award reflects the importance of investing in the people who make our game possible and ensuring collegiate women's lacrosse continues to grow and thrive for generations to come. I am very appreciative of the Board for this honor and recognition."

Allen will be honored at the IWLCA Honors Banquet Dinner and Hall of Fame Induction on November 19, as part of the annual IWLCA Convention.

Allen is in her 14th year leading the Bearcats and steered the program to its inaugural NCAA tournament appearance in 2024.
