Women's Lacrosse falls to No. 2 Boston College

Bearcats hold Golden Eagles to 14 goals- second lowest scoring game for Boston College this season

CHESTNUT HILL, MA - The Binghamton women's lacrosse team fell to No. 2 Boston College 14-2 Friday afternoon. The Bearcats lone goals were scored by seniors Callon Williams and Skye Schumacher, each off assists from Brianne Arthur and Emily Yoo, respectively.

The Bearcats held Boston College to just three goals in the second half, which marks the lowest scoring 30 minutes of play the Golden Eagles have had yet this season. Boston College's 14 goals were the second lowest they've scored this season, netting only 13 against No. 15 Notre Dame in their season opener.

"I was really proud of our effort and relentlessness today," head coach Stephanie Allen said. "Boston College is an incredibly talented team and someone that we worked very hard to slow down and limit their biggest threats. Our defensive unit did a great job of staying focused and limiting opportunities throughout the entire game. Offensively, we played rushed when it came to finishing our shots, which is something we will work on this week as we get ready for our next game. All in all, we saw some bright spots out on the field today, despite the score, and we will be using those as motivation moving into next week."

Senior Jacqueline Kennedy recorded two caused turnovers and picked up two ground balls in today's contest. The attacker currently leads the team with 23 caused turnovers and is second with 14 total ground balls. Freshman Sam Fama made her collegiate debut on defense, tying for a team-high picking up two ground balls.

Senior Emma Jehle recorded four saves in the net in the first half while sophomore Taylor Passuello added two in the second.

The Bearcats return home on Monday, March 5 for a matchup against the Canisius Golden Griffs. The game is set for a 4 p.m. start time at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
