HAMILTON, N.Y. - Host Colgate (5-9) won the doubles point in a tight tiebreak at No. 3 and that was the difference as the Raiders edged Binghamton women's tennis (2-10) 4-3 Sunday afternoon at the Sanford Field House. The teams split the six singles matches with BU winning at Nos. 1,2 and 6.
Sophomore No. 1
Samara Eisenberg posted a 7-5, 6-2 win and redshirt freshman
Michelle Eisenberg earned a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 2. The Eisenberg twins also were victorious at No. 2 doubles, 6-2.Â
After
Samara Eisenberg's win at the top spot, the Bearcats had evened the match at 2-2. But Colgate responded with clinching wins at fourth and fifth singles, including a three-set triumph at the fourth spot.Â
Junior No. 6
Maria Pandya notched a 7-5, 6-1 win for BU's final point. It was her team-best ninth win of the season.
Binghamton next plays at Niagara on Friday.
