ORLANDO, Fla. -- Binghamton (2-5) continued play at the Citrus 2 Classic on Monday.
The Bearcats defeated the Czech National Team 6-0 in an exhibition game but were defeated 6-2 by Niagara later in the day.
Against the Purple Eagles, senior pinch runner Jill Bovitt scored the first run on a RBI ground out in the third inning. Freshman first baseman
Alex Guay homered in the top of the seventh inning.
Niagara, however, plated four runs in bottom of the first inning to take control of the game and tacked on another two runs in the bottom of the third inning.Â
Karsen Cotton held the Bearcats to just two runs on three hits to improve to 2-2 while sophomore pitcher
Rayn Gibson fell to 0-3 with the loss.
Binghamton faces Northern Kentucky at 11 a.m. and Central Michigan at 1:30 p.m. as it concludes its Florida trip on Tuesday.
