Binghamton falls to Arizona State 3-0

LARAMIE, WY. - The Binghamton volleyball team (0-9) dropped the final match of the Wyoming Invitational to Arizona State on Saturday morning. The Sun Devils defeated the Bearcats 3-0 (25-20, 25-18 and 25-17).

The Sun Devils got out to an early 7-2 lead to start the match. Binghamton battled back but their efforts fell short and Arizona State claimed the first set 25-20.

Both teams battled back and forth in the second set until ASU secured a 24-17 lead. Binghamton scored on a kill by Gaby Alicea to make the score 24-18 but the Sun Devils scored the final point of the set on a Bearcats serving error to take 2-0 lead in the match.

The Sun Devils got out to a 15-10 lead in the third set. After a Binghamton timeout, the Bearcats came out fighting and scored the next three points. Arizona State didn't budge though and maintained the lead to win the set 25-17 and win the match 3-0.

Alicea lead the Bearcats with 15 points on 14 kills. She now has 995 career kills. Kiara Adams added 25 assists.
