Wrestling Faces Penn, Columbia This Weekend

The Bearcats host Penn Friday night at 7 PM in the Events Center

VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton wrestling team is set for a pair of dual meets this weekend, hosting Penn on Jan. 18 before heading to Manhattan for a Sunday matinee against Columbia University. Both matches will be live streamed through ESPN, with the match against Penn on ESPN3 and the Columbia dual on ESPN+.

  • Binghamton enters the weekend looking for its' first dual and EIWA win of the season
  • The Bearcats are coming off a 30-7 loss against Army West Point, in which Anthony Sparacio (141) and Lou DePrez (184) each won their contested bout
  • Penn enters the weekend 1-3 in dual meats and 0-1 against EIWA opponents
  • Columbia is 4-1 this season, with a loss to American on Jan. 12 snapping its four match win streak.
  • Binghamton is 1-6 against Penn all-time. The Bearcats snapped a six year win streak from the Quakers last season with a thrilling 19-18 victory in The Palestra.
