Bearcats begin first of five consecutive road matches

The Binghamton volleyball team hits the road to Durham Friday for an America East contest with New Hampshire starting at 7 p.m. It is the Bearcat's only matchup of the weekend, and it starts a string of five consecutive road games before the team competes at home in early November.

Binghamton sits at 0-2 in America East play following a 3-1 loss to Hartford and a 3-0 defeat defending champion Stony Brook. The team is looking for its first victory of the season.

The defense has come to play of late for the Bearcats, with Elis Gadelha, Tyra Wilson and Kiara Adams leading the charge. The trio has a combined 17 blocks in the last two matches.

Freshman Anna Sprys has come in and provided a needed spark, registering five kills and three blocks in limited action off the bench last weekend.

A look at New Hampshire
The Wildcats come into tonight's matchup with an 11-5 overall record and sit at 1-1 in America East play. Following a sweep at the hands of Albany, they grinded out a five set victory over UMBC to right the ship.

Kennedi Smith and Hannah Petke spearhead the Wildcat offense with 144 and 141 kills respectively. Abby Sullivan is not far behind with 112 kills.

On the defensive side of the ball, Emily Tanski has 249 digs, good enough for tops in the conference. She is the only player in the America East to average more than four digs per set (4.15).
