Men’s Soccer Loses 4-0 at Vermont

Catamounts net two goals within 68 seconds to blow match open

BURLINGTON, Vt. – Frosti Byrnjolfsson scored a goal and added two assists, powering Vermont (7-4-0, 2-1-0 AE) to a 4-0 win over Binghamton (3-7-1, 0-3-0 AE) in an America East men's soccer game on Saturday night at Virtue Field.

Byrnjolfsson assisted on the first goal of the match in the 11th minute. It was scored by Joe Morrison.

The Catamounts then blew the match open with two goals in a span of 68 seconds. With just four seconds left in the first half, Hans Oeftger padded the lead to 2-0. The assists were credited to Evan Rouleau and Garrett Lillie.

Just 1:05 in to the second half, Vermont struck again. Orn Anason netted the goal with the assist going to Byrnjolfsson.

Byrnjolfsson then capped the scoring in the 62nd minute. Morrison tallied the assist.

Vermont held a 13-8 lead in total shots and a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal.

Binghamton heads to Stony Brook next Saturday for a 7 p.m. conference game.
