Sessoms (19 pts.) leads four players in double figures; BU records fourth straight win

VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton men's basketball (4-3) opened up a 24-point halftime bulge and rolled past SUNY Oneonta 90-69 Tuesday night at Dr. Bai Lee Court at the Events Center. The Bearcats put four players in double figures and extended their win streak to four games.

Sophomore guard Sam Sessoms led the first-half charge with 12 points as BU put 53 on the board in the opening stanza. Binghamton used a 23-0 run midway through the period to turn a 30-27 edge into a 53-27 cushion late in the half. Six different players contributed to the run.

In the second half, Oneonta outscored BU 40-37 and cut its margin from 31 points down to 10, 71-61, with 4:28 left. But the Bearcats outscored their Division III visitors 19-8 to end the game.

Sessoms wound up with 19 points, six assists and four steals. Freshman guard Brenton Mills hit 6-of-9 shots for 16 points and classmate George Tinsley tallied 14 points, nine rebounds and four blocks. Senior guard Richard Caldwell, Jr. added 12 points, including a thunderous dunk in the final minute. Senior forward Pierre Sarr chipped in seven points and a season-high 14 rebounds.
