Womem's Basketball Tips Off Season at Siena

Bearcats and Saints square off Tuesday at 5 p.m.

STORY LINES
- Binghamton finished 12-18 last season and was fifth in the America East Conference. Senior guard Kai Moon, who was named second-team all-conference, averaged 13.1 points per game. The Bearcats return two other seniors (Carly Boland and Karlee Krchnavi) as well as three other starters (Boland, Krchnavi and junior forward Olivia Ramil). In the America East preseason poll, the Bearcats were picked fourth out of nine teams.

- Siena also finished 12-18 overall last year and tied for seventh in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). Senior Sabrina Piper averaged 10.9 points per game last season, ranked eighth in the MAAC in blocks (0.9 bpg.) and ninth in free throw percentage (.710). Picked to finish 10th out of 11 teams in the MAAC this year, the Saints return seven letterwinners and add six newcomers.

- The all-time series between Binghamton and Siena is tied at 3-3. The two teams, however, have not played each other since Dec. 19, 2014 when the Saints won 62-53 at the Events Center. Siena has won the past three meetings in the series. Binghamton's last victory was a 80-70 triumph back on Nov. 15, 2011.

- Binghamton is seeking its second consecutive opening-day win. Last season, the Bearcats defeated Charleston (W.V.) 69-62 on Nov. 6 at the Events Center.
