VESTAL, N.Y. – A packed house for Senior Day today at the Events Center as Binghamton (8-20, 4-8 America East) faced off with America East leading Vermont (22-6, 11-2 America East). A 22 point performance by Binghamton's senior guard
J.C. Show was not enough for the Bearcats as Vermont was able to hold off Binghamton to secure the 69-63 win.
The conference leading Catamounts had two players, Anthony Lamb (28 points 12 rebounds) and Ernie Duncan (22 points), in double figures. Their clutch performances were enough to hold off the Bearcats down the stretch.
After trailing the Catamounts by six points at the half, Binghamton came out hot for the second half shooting 70% from beyond the arc. The Bearcats were able to crawl back and tie the game at 58-58 on a
Timmy Rose layup. However, Vermont was able to control the paint outscoring Binghamton 28-16 on the glass.
Along with
J.C. Show (22 points 6-6 3Pt) freshman guard
Sam Sessoms added 11 points as the only other Bearcat in double figures. Show's perfect game from beyond the arc allowed him to reach the 20-point mark for the 12
th time in his career at Binghamton.
Senior guard
Chancellor Barnard added eight rebounds in a strong effort down low.
Binghamton will square-off with Hartford on Wednesday, February 27 at home.
