Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Marist 12-8

Golderman records hat trick, Passuello with 10 saves

VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton Women's Lacrosse team (0-5) fell 12-8 to Marist Friday evening at the Bearcats Sports Complex. Rebecca Golderman recorded her first hat-trick of the season and Taylor Passuello notched her fifth game with double-digit saves.

"We really emphasised battling until the end today," head coach Stephanie Allen said. "I think we saw a glimpse of accomplishing that. Right now we're still young and trying to develop our experience on the field. The errors right now need to be minimized but it's the things that we're working to progress and improve on a daily basis."

Highlights
  • Marist got on the board first via Samantha Mehalick's 11th goal of the season
  • Binghamton then took the lead through Paige Volkmann and Amelia Biancardi (Free Position)
  • Ciara Gordon put the Bearcats up 3-2 from the free position at 8:32, before Marist's Devon Connolly scored two unanswered goals
  • Mehalick's second goal of the day took Marist into the break in front 5-4
  • The Bearcats scored the first two goals of the second half before Marist went on a 6-0 run (three of which came from Mehalik)
  • Rebecca Golderman completed her hat trick with two free position goals either side of Samantha Mehalick's sixth goal of the game to make it 12-8 Marist
  • Taylor Passuello finished with 10 saves in net for the Bearcats
