Women's Lacrosse Falls to UNH 12-10

Biancardi secures second hat-trick of the season

DURHAM, N.H. - The Binghamton women's lacrosse team (0-9, 0-1 AE) fell 12-10 to UNH (5-2, 1-0 AE) Saturday afternoon at Wildcat stadium. Amelia Biancardi led the Bearcats with three goals, her second hat-trick of the season and her tenth goal in the last three games. Taylor Passuello made 11 saves in between the pipes.

"Today we played a better second half that our previous games, just couldn't come out on top," head coach Stephanie Allen said. "We are working on and growing on team chemistry and confidence each week and have not given up. This is a group of fighters and we will get there. We are on the brink of turning the corner - one or two balls fall a different way and it's a different end result."

Highlights
  • Bearcats and Wildcats went goal for goal the first period, heading into halftime neck and neck with a 6-7 score.
  • Olivia Batista scored the Bearcats first goal of the game, followed by a second goal later in the game. Batista has now scored in seven out of nine games this season.
  • Down 3-1 midway through the first half, Alissa Franze and Biancardi each scored their first goals of the game to bring the Bearcats back to a tie. Biancardi scored on an assist from Emily Yoo, her second of the season. Franze scored her second at 9:51, answering a fourth UNH goal to even the game up again.
