VESTAL, N.Y. - Visiting Albany (12-19, 7-9 America East) produced a 22-0 run that bookended both sides of halftime and the Great Danes shot 56 percent in the second half to stifle Binghamton men's basketball (9-22, 5-11 AE) 73-58 in the regular season finale Tuesday night at the Events Center.Â
The Bearcats will now turn their attention to the postseason, where seventh-seeded BU will face second-seeded Stony Brook Saturday night on Long Island.

The Great Danes began the second half with a 14-0 run, thanks to five free throws, two breakaway dunks and a 3-pointer. The Bearcats went scoreless for the first 4:25 and found themselves down 46-26. Binghamton never got it under 13 points the rest of the way.
"I was disappointed with the way we played tonight," head coach
Tommy Dempsey said. "But we will move forward and get this taste out of our mouths. We've been playing so much better than we played tonight. Albany was very good defensively and forced us into a lot of tough shots and we didn't shoot it as well as we have been shooting. We let our lack of ability to get going offensively affect our defensive intensity and that's when the game got away from us."Â
Senior forward
Chancellor Barnard led BU with 15 points, seven boards and three blocks. Senior guard
J.C. Show had 11 points and senior forward
Caleb Stewart added 10 points.Â
Albany put five players in double figures and completed a season sweep of the Bearcats.Â
