Women’s Lacrosse Falls to #17 Stony Brook 20-4

Biancardi nets two for the Bearcats, Passuello makes eight saves in the net

STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The Binghamton women's lacrosse team (2-13, 2-3 AE) fell to #17 Stony Brook (11-4, 6-0 AE) Friday evening at LaValle Stadium. Amelia Biancardi led the Bearcats with two goals on the evening, while Taylor Passuello made eight saves between the pipes.

"Obviously not the outcome we were looking for today, but our players never gave up," head coach Stephanie Allen said. "Stony brook is a very talented and well coached team. We knew it was going to be a tough fight tonight. Where we weren't able to execute tonight, we plan to get back out on the field and continue to work on improving those areas moving forward. It was great seeing such a large group come out and support the Bearcats tonight though."

Highlights
  • Biancardi got the Bearcats on the board early in the first half off a feed from Emily Yoo for Binghamton's lone first half goal.
  • Trailing 15-1 at the start of the second, Biancardi scored again at 23:34 for her second of the day, assisted by Rebecca Golderman.
  • Olivia Batista and Kelly Quinn capped off the scoring for the Bearcats, each scoring on free positions.
  • Alyssa Sanchez and Biancardi each recorded three draw controls on the day, while Sanchez also picked up three ground balls.
  • Passuello recorded eight saves and picked up five ground balls.
