Softball Hosts Syracuse in final non-conference game

Bearcats and Orange set for single game Tuesday at 3 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (15-24) dropped two out of three games in a conference series at Hartford this past weekend. Junior catcher Sara Herskowitz finished the weekend 4-for-10 (.400) and had a team-high three RBI. Sophomore first baseman Madison Germano batted a team-best .667, going 4-for-6 in the process.

- Freshman shortstop Marissa Braito, who has been named the America East Rookie of the Week three times this season, ranks No. 10 in the conference in batting (.331), second in triples (five) and seventh with a .423 on-base percentage. Herskowitz is tied for fourth with 29 RBI and sophomore shortstop Makayla Alvarez is third with eight home runs.

- Playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), Syracuse (19-25) lost two out of three conference games to Pittsburgh this past weekend. Gabby Teran is first on the squad with a .336 batting average while Toni Martin has four home runs and 23 RBI. On the mound, Alexa Romero is 13-9 with a 2.96 ERA.

- Syracuse leads the all-time series 18-2. Binghamton's last victory in the series was a 2-1 walk-off win on May 3, 2016 at the Bearcats Sports Complex Softball Facility.
