Softball Hosts Maine on Senior Day Weekend

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (15-26, 4-11 AE) lost 5-2 at Albany on Wednesday. Freshman shortstop Marissa Braito and junior catcher Sara Herskowitz drove in the Bearcat runs.

- Braito ranks No. 10 in the America East in batting (.325), is sixth with a .420 on-base percentage and is second with five triples. Herskowitz, meanwhile, is tied for fourth with 30 RBI and is No. 10 with a .553 slugging percentage. Sophomore shortstop Makayla Alvarez is third with eight home runs.

- Maine (10-25, 2-9 AE) was swept 2-1 and 11-7 in a doubleheader against Albany last Saturday. Keely Clark leads the Black Bears with a .313 batting average.

- Maine leads the all-time series 33-21. Last season, the Bearcats took two out of three games in Orono April 28-29 and won a 3-1 first-round game in the America East Tournament against the Black Bears. Maine, however, eliminated Binghamton from the tournament with a 4-3 third-round victory.

- Binghamton will hold its annual Senior Day Ceremony prior to the first game on Saturday. The Bearcats will recognize its two graduating seniors – Allison Pritchard and Makenzie Goluba.
