Women's Lacrosse Defeats UMass Lowell 13-7

Biancardi scores third hat trick, nine Bearcats record goals

Vestal, N.Y. - The Binghamton Women's Lacrosse team (1-12, 1-3 AE) won 13-7 at home against UMass Lowell (3-10, 0-4 AE) on Saturday. In the Bearcats' first win of the season, Amelia Biancardi scored her third hat trick of 2019 as one of nine players that marked the scoresheet for Binghamton.

"It feels great to be able to come off the field feeling victorious," head coach Stephanie Allen. "We improved on the draw today and capitalized on extra opportunities. The chemistry I saw out on the field today was great and I think this gives us a lot of momentum heading into the rest of our season."

  • The Bearcats opened up the game on a 5-0 run which included goals from Kelly Quinn, Olivia Batista (2), Amelia Biancardi and Alyssa Sanchez
  • UMass Lowell's Paige MacEachern responded with the first two of her four goals on the day
  • Sofia Afkham and Sidra Morchower each recorded their third goals of the season as the Bearcats scored the next two from the free position to give Binghamton a 7-2 lead.
  • The River Hawks scored four unanswered goals before Amelia Biancardi responded with 2 of her own to complete the hat trick.
  • Lauren Cristodero scored from a man down for Binghamton before Madeleine Juliano recorded her first career goal.
  • Rebecca Golderman scored her team-high 19th goal of the season off an assist from Paige Volkmann, who leads the team with 11 assists.
  • UMass Lowell's Cameron McKelvin scored her 25th goal of the season to round out the scoring.
