The Binghamton Wrestling fell to EIWA opponents No. 13 Lehigh and Columbia Friday evening in Vestal. The Bearcats opened up against the Mountain Hawks and were taken down 36-3 before falling to Columbia, 24-15.

"We didn't perform well tonight," said head coach Kyle Borshoff. "It showed in both of our losses. I believe in our team and our training, but today we didn't get the job done."

Highlights

• Matt Swanson had his first career dual victory to open things up against Lehigh. The 6-0 decision gave the Bearcats a 3-0 lead before they lost nine straight.
• Alex Melikian won his bout against Columbia's Lennox Wolak, 9-5. This was after his effort against Lehigh's No. 2 Jordan Kutler, who won in a 6-1 decision.
• Lou DePrez got revenge after a loss to Lehigh's No. 19 Chris Weiler with a pin on Columbia's Joe Franzese.
• Joe Doyle defeated Columbia's Danny Conley (5-3) in his final bout, and Anthony Sparacio salvaged the final matchup of the night with a 9-3 decision.

In total, Binghamton won one bout against Lehigh and four against Columbia. The Bearcats were forced to medical forfeit at 165 pounds against both opponents.

It's a quick turnaround for the Bearcats, who will take on Hofstra on Sunday in Hempstead. First matchup will be at 1 p.m.
