Women's Basketball Heads to First-Place Stony Brook

Bearcats and Seawolves tip off Wednesday at 6:31 p.m.

STORY LINES
 
- Binghamton (16-7, 5-5 AE) lost 75-65 at Maine in overtime. Senior guard Kai Moon led three Bearcats in double figures with 17 points. Fellow senior guard Carly Boland finished with 13 points while sophomore forward Annie Ramil added 11 points.
 
- Moon ranks first in the America East and is No. 12 in the nation in scoring (20.2 ppg.). She is also first in the conference in steals (2.3 spg.). Ramil and senior guard Karlee Krchnavi are both tied for ninth in the America East with 6.3 rebounds per game while senior guard Carly Boland is tied for eighth in assists (3.0 apg.) and is tied for third in blocks (1.1 bpg.). As a team, Binghamton leads the America East with 68.3 points per game and is third in scoring defense (58.9 ppg.). 
 
- Stony Brook (23-1, 11-0 AE) has a 20-game winning streak, which is the second longest current streak in the nation. The Seawolves are currently ranked ninth in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll and have been receiving votes in both national polls (AP and USA Today/Coaches Poll) the past three weeks.
 
-  As a team, Stony Brook ranks first in the America East and No. 11 in the nation in scoring defense (54.5 ppg.). The Seawolves also led the conference in rebounding (40.0 rpg.) and assists (13.79 apg.).
 
- Stony Brook leads the all-time series against Binghamton 24-23, having won the past three meetings. The Seawolves took a 67-60 decision at the Events Center back on Jan. 22. Senior guard Kai Moon led all scorers with 21 points. 

 
MILESTONES TO WATCH FOR VS. STONY BROOK
 
- With 1,333 career points, senior guard Kai Moon needs eight points to tie Leah Truncale (1998-02) for fifth place all time in Binghamton program history with 1,341 points.
- With 184 career three-point field goals, senior guard Moon needs one more to tie Jen Blues (2002-06) for sixth-place all time in program history with 185 treys. Moon also needs two more three pointers to tie Andrea Holmes (2008-12) for fifth place all time with 186.
- With 395 made free throws, Moon needs seven more makes to tie Bess Greenberg (1997-01) for third place all time in program history with 402.
- Binghamton has yet to be a team that has received votes in the NCAA polls during its 19-year NCAA Division I era.
