LOWELL, Mass. --- Senior guard
Kai Moon finished with a game-high 19 points as Binghamton (18-8, 7-6 AE) stormed back to beat UMass Lowell (13-14, 9-5 AE) in an America East women's basketball game on Wednesday night at the Costelllo Center. The Bearcats were down by as many as 14 points early in the second quarter before recording their largest comeback victory of the season.
The 18 wins so far this season represents Binghamton's fourth-best total during their 19-year NCAA Division I era. Binghamton needs two more wins to tie the 2017-18 mark of 20 victories.

Senior guard
Carly Boland added 11 points to go along with a career-high seven assists, three rebounds, two blocks and pair of steals.

"I am so happy for those kids," head coach
Bethann Shapiro Ord said. "What a tough game we played today. We weren't attacking the basket in the first half but we came back and put on our pressure defensively. That is a very good Lowell team, even with their point guard being out. We had a lot of people come in and help out tonight."
Down 27-20 at the half, the Bearcat offense found its stride in the third period. Binghamton outscored the River Hawks 21-16 to tie the game at 43-43. The Bearcats shot 69 percent from the field (9-of-13) during that stretch.
The game was deadlocked 56-56 with 2:35 left in the fourth period when Boland and sophomore forward
Annie Ramil hit back-to-back shots. At that point, the lead was 60-56 with 1:39 remaining.
Kaylen Banwareesigngh trimmed the Bearcat lead to 60-58 at the 28-second mark but Moon iced the game with a pair of made free throws in the last 10 seconds.
Kharis Idom led four UMass Lowell players in double figures with 14 points. As a team, the River Hawks shot 46 percent for the game (25-of-55).
While both teams shot well, they also struggled with turnovers. Bearcats had one more turnover (18-17) but had a 20-13 advantage in points off of turnovers.
Off the bench, freshman forward
Clare Traeger scored a career-high seven points and grabbed four rebounds. Junior forward
Kaylee Wasco added six points, hitting three of her six shots.
With seven made free throws, Moon now has 404 makes for her career. Against UMass Lowell, she surpassed Bess Greenberg for third place all time in program history.
Binghamton travels to Hartford on Saturday for a 2 p.m. game.
