Men’s Lacrosse falls to Bucknell at Home

Teddy Dolan made 18 saves in the net, Bearcats fall 16-4 to the Bison

VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton men's lacrosse team (1-3) fell 16-4 to Bucknell (4-1) Tuesday evening at the Bearcats Sports Complex. Sophomore Teddy Dolan made 18 saves in just three periods, tying his career-high.

"We have to do a better job clearing the ball," head coach Kevin McKeown said. "Their ride and the pressure they put on us caused us to turn the ball over a lot. That was really the story of the game. But I thought Teddy Dolan played really well, he had 18 saves in just three quarters which is just outstanding."

The Bearcats started the game on an exciting note, when junior Tom Galgano scored on a long ball from Binghamton's defensive end just thirty seconds into the first period. Bucknell, capitalizing on two extra man opportunities, scored consecutive goals to take a 2-1 lead. Justin Roderka closed out the first period on a no-look behind-the-back goal off a feed from Daniel MacKinney to tie the score heading into the second period.

The Bearcats and the Bison traded goals at the start of the second, as sophomore Kevin Winkoff scored his fourth of the season unassisted. Bucknell then went on a 13-1 scoring run, with freshman Thomas Greenblatt scoring BU's fourth and final goal.

Galgano finished the game with five caused turnovers and seven ground balls, while senior Dan Mottes caused three turnovers and picked up four ground balls.

The Bearcats hit the road on Tuesday, Mar. 3 for a 3 p.m. game against Army West Point.
