VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton University wrestling team will continue its strong dual schedule this weekend with a road matchup against Lehigh. Coming off a win over No. 22 Army West Point, the Bearcats will compete against a Mountain Hawks team that has won three consecutive EIWA Championships.

In Binghamton's victory over the Black Knights, seven of 10 bouts resulted in Bearcat victories, including major decisions by 141-pounder No. 22 Zack Trampe and heavyweight Cory Day.

Over the course of the team's 3-0 start, the Bearcats are a combined 21-9 (24-12 including extra matches), with four pins and four major decisions. No. 4 Lou DePrez leads the way with two pins and 15 team points contributed.

Also led by DePrez, Binghamton has five wrestlers receiving national recognition, including two true freshmen in Micah Roes (125 pounds, No. 30) and Brevin Cassella (165 pounds, No. 33).

The Bearcats are nationally ranked as a team (No. 25 by the NWCA, No. 23 by InterMat). It is the first time the team has been ranked since 2012.

The remainder of Binghamton's schedule will be against EIWA foes. Following Saturday's bout, the team will travel to Bucknell on February 7 before a home match with Hofstra on February 13.

The Mountain Hawks enter Saturday's dual at 0-2, with both losses coming against ranked opponents (No. 12 Pittsburgh, No. 24 Navy).

Lehigh is expected to return two-time All-American heavyweight Jordan Wood to the lineup. The redshirt senior is a three-time EIWA champion with a 64-17 career record.

Fifth-year senior Jake Jakobsen rose through the ranks over the course of the 2019-20 season. Despite an 0-2 record thus far, the 197-pounder took fifth at last season's EIWA Championship and has the third-highest EIWA ranking (No. 17) in this competitive weight class.

No. 32 Jaret Lane (125 pounds) is off to a 2-0 start for Lehigh, and has a 27-13 career record. He went 21-7 last season, wrestling at 133 pounds.
