VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton wrestling team will host North Dakota State and Edinboro in a tri-meet Friday afternoon in the West Gym. The Bearcats will take on NDSU at 3:30 before closing out the afternoon with Edinboro at 5 p.m.

The Bearcats enter Friday's matches following a weekend at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite. Anthony Sobotker made a move into the national rankings after his seventh-place finish in Nevada. The 10-seed had two pins and a big win over No. 24 Matt Ramos of Purdue.

Three other Bearcats find themselves in the national rankings, including two-time All-American Lou DePrez. The senior 197-pounder is 10-2 on the year and ranked 12th in the country by Flo and InterMat. Jacob Nolan and Joe Doyle are ranked No. 29 at their respective weights (174 pounds and heavyweight).

Brevin Cassella went 1-2 in Las Vegas, but pushed nationally ranked Julian Ramirez (Cornell) to the edge, in an 8-6 dropped decision. He will have the opportunity for a potential matchup with No. 6 Luke Weber of North Dakota State.

Nick Lombard had two wins last weekend, while Michael Zarf also picked up a win.

The Bison have five representatives in the national rankings, led by No. 6 Luke Weber. The 165-pounder has three pins on the year and is 5-1. No. 11 Jared Franek leads the Bison in active career dual wins and is 6-1 on the year.

Owen Pentz has five pins in six wins, and is a threat to put any opponent on their back. The 197-pound freshman's only loss came against No. 3 Rocky Elam of Missouri.

Another Bison veteran, Brandon Metz has enjoyed a strong start to the year. He has been in several tight bouts, prevailing in all but one of them. His only loss came to No. 11 Zach Elam.

North Dakota State will face Edinboro at 2 p.m. to kick off the day, and face BU right after. They will then travel to Buffalo for a dual with the Bulls Saturday.

The Fighting Scots enter Friday's duals at 1-2, with their lone victory coming over Gannon. They wrestled a tight match with nationally ranked Pittsburgh earlier in the season, falling 28-20.

Ethan Ducca leads Edinboro with a 7-1 record. This week, the 184-pounder cracked the national rankings, taking the No. 33 spot in InterMat's poll.

Logan Jaquay, Gabe Willocheell, Dylan Kohn, and Cody Mulligan all have winning records for Edinboro. Mulligan, a 197-pounder has faced strong national competition this year, falling to Michigan State's No. 18 Cameron Caffey twice in tight bouts.
