Men’s Lacrosse Hosts NJIT Saturday

Bearcats and Highlanders set for 2 p.m. face-off

VESTAL, N.Y. -- The Binghamton University men's lacrosse team (2-2 AE) will host NJIT (1-5, 1-3 AE) on Saturday, April 3 at 2 p.m. at the Bearcats Sports Complex in Vestal. The matchup will be the team's second meeting of the season.

Notes
  • The Bearcats are coming off back-to-back games against UMBC, ending in a split series, both determined by a one goal difference. 
  • Redshirt sophomore goalie Teddy Dolan was named America East Defensive Player of the Week after posting a .714 save percentage in the 1-1 week
  • Junior midfielder Thomas Greenblatt leads the Bearcats in points with eight goals and two assists.
  • Face-off specialist Matthew DeSouza has won 41 of 73 face-offs this season (.562) and has 27 ground balls.

Scouting NJIT
  • The Highlanders are coming off their first win of the season after an 0-5 start.
  • NJIT beat UMass Lowell on the road 14-10.
  • Owen Corry leads the Highlanders in points; 10 goals, 4 assists. The sophomore midfielder contributed one goal and one assist against Binghamton earlier this season. Corry's best performance was against UMass Lowell, netting five goals while adding two assists.

Series History
  • Earlier this season the Bearcats beat the Highlanders in Newark, NJ 11-5.
  • This will be the second time BU and NJIT face off.
  • Binghamton holds the all time series record of 1-0.
