LOWELL, MA. -- The men's lacrosse team (5-4, 5-4 AE) finished their season with an 11-9 win over UMass Lowell (1-8, 1-7 AE) this evening at Crushing Field in Lowell, Massachusetts. Junior attacker
Daniel MacKinney led the Bearcats with three goals and one assist in the game.
"I'm proud of the way our team responded this week," head coach
Kevin McKeown said. "We had a lot of adversity thrown our way and we continued to stay together and fight, and I thought this game reflected the same thing. It was a great team win."
UMass Lowell scored the first of a ten-goal first period between the two squads. Binghamton went on to tally three straight; two by MacKinney and one by senior
Sean Makar. The River Hawks ended Binghamton's run with their second goal of the contest. BU's leading goal scorer, sophomore
Thomas Greenblatt, added to the scoresheet to give Binghamton a two goal lead. Senior attackman
Justin Roderka followed up a UMass Lowell goal with a top shelf score off of a feed from senior midfielder
Jackson Rieger. Shortly after, Greenblatt notched his second of the day on a man-up play. UMass Lowell closed out the period with a goal to make their deficit 6-4.
Twenty-seven seconds into the second quarter, the River Hawks took advantage of a man-up opportunity to make it 6-5. The next 12 minutes featured a series of turnovers caused by strong defensive fronts from both sides. UMass Lowell closed out the first half securing two goals to take the 7-6 edge.
MacKinney kicked off the third period with his third goal of the game, securing a hat trick and evening the score at seven. Nearly three minutes later, the River Hawks punched in another one to take a one goal lead. Freshman midfielder
Aaron Tebo scooped up a ground ball and went coast to coast, scoring his first career goal as a Bearcat and tying the score once again. With three minutes to go in the third period, attacker
Vincent Basile tallied his first goal of the season off of a feed from junior
Kevin Winkoff. Basile's score ended the third period with Binghamton on top 9-8.
Winkoff opened the final period tagging on two crucial goals to hold off the River Hawks. UMass Lowell scored one late in the game but it wasn't enough as the Bearcats came away with the 11-9 victory.

Tom Galgano led BU with three caused turnovers.
