VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton volleyball team opens its season Friday afternoon with a matchup against Navy at the Towson Tournament in Baltimore. The Bearcats will follow up with action against Morgan State and hosts Tigers Saturday afternoon before returning to campus.
Bearcat Brief
-BU returns 10 players to the 2021 roster, including three sophomores, three juniors, three seniors and a graduate student.
-Binghamton posted a 1-11 record in the spring, notching a 3-0 sweep of Stony Brook to end the campaign.

Stefana Stan returns as an America East All-Rookie recipient, after finishing second on the team in kills and digs.
-
Anna Sprys led BU in blocks on the season with 33, and added 74 kills while hitting .246.
Scouting Navy
-Navy finished ts truncated season with a 4-1 record, including two wins over Loyola Maryland.
-Despite losing their top hitter to graduation, the Midshipmen return Avery Stowell, who had 54 kills on the season in the spring.
-Kimberly Lynch will lead Navy in the back, as she nearly topped 100 digs in her five matches played.
-As a freshman, Maggie Bodman averaged six blocks per match last season, including an eight-block performance against Loyola on March 27.
About Morgan State
-Morgan State is coming off a 4-8 season in the spring, dropping seven of its final eight contests after opening the year with a 3-1 record.
-The Bears defeated the Bearcats in five sets in 2019.
-Despite losing its top two hitters from a season ago, Morgan State returns Jourdan Page, who had 54 kills on the year.
Towson returns after NCAA Tournamant bid
-Towson's lone loss during its seven-match 2021 slate came to Dayton in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.Â
-The Tigers won both of their Colonial Athletic Association regular season matches and won two matches during the conference tournament to advance to the postseason.Â
-Towson previously advanced to the second round of the 2019 NCAA Tournament after it defeated American in the first round of the event.
